| Outline of Group/Organization | The KITAKANTO Medical Society was established in 1951 with an objective to promote medical sciences and regional medical service in the northern KANTO region of the main island of Japan.
The KITAKANTO Medical Society has a membership of about 800, many of whom are researchers and clinicians at Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine and Gunma University Hospital.
UNDERTAKINGS: An Annual Meeting of the KITAKANTO Medical Society is held at Gunma University Graduate School of Medicine featuring scientific symposiums, special lectures, workshops and original researches.
"The KITAKANTO Medical Journal" is the official journal of the KITAKANTO Medical Society issued quarterly.
The KITAKANTO Medical Society Incentive Prizes are awarded annually to selected society members with outstanding achievements in medical and health sciences.
Each year The KITAKANTO Medical Society offers an award (KMJ Award) to the author of an outstanding paper published in The KITAKANTO Medical Journal.
HISTORY: October 2, 1951; The KITAKANTO Medical Society was founded on a decision by the Faculty of Gunma University School of Medicine.
November 15, 1951; The first issue of the official journal, "The KITAKANTO-IGAKU" was published. January, 1977; The journal was renamed to "The KITAKANTO Medical Journal". |
